Chapbook!

Because a Girl: Selected Writings 2001 – 2009

When you move a lot, you lose things.  I thought for over 3 years that I had lost the bulk of the writing I did (and published) in the past decade.  Just this summer, after yet another move, I opened up a box and discovered that I had been keeping it safe and filed together the entire time.

So!  I’ve put out a limited edition chapbook — Because a Girl: Selected Writings 2001 – 2009.  The cover art is by my amazing friend Lex, and the inside features poetry, prose, and a few photos by me, as well as a joint photography and writing project created by me and my beffie, Jenny.

Their work is copyrighted to them, but my writing is published under a Creative Commons license, to allow people to share and remix it any way they’d like (as long as they give me credit for the original work).

Because a Girl was released on my birthday, September 9th.  Copies are still available!

There are two ways to order a copy.  You can:

1) Click the “Buy Now” link and pay me $5 for the chapbook.  This money goes to cover the costs of printing, shipping, and artwork.

OR

2) Donate at least $15 to a registered non-profit charity of your choosing (such as Doctors Without Borders, Red Cross, or Charity:Water).  Email me a copy of your donation receipt within 2 weeks of making the donation.  I will send you a chapbook.  (You can black out any information you like on the receipt, but I will need to see your first name, donation amount, and the date the donation was made.)

In the countdown to the release date, I recorded a few poems for your viewing pleasure:
